Culture and Folk Literature is one of the TMU Press journals that is published by the responsibility of its Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board in the determined scopes.
Culture, art, language and literature of the general public in Iran is one of the richest treasures of human civilization. Antiquity of Iranian peoples, richness of their culture and literature, the plurality of subcultures and geographical distribution of their ethnicities invigorate this cultural richness. If we fail to bridge the rich material and spiritual culture of the past and the present when invaded by the immigrant and aggressive cultures, and fail to protect the privacy of this indigenous and popular language and literature, then we have failed to do our Scientific, cultural and national duty properly.
Publishing credible academic journals is one of the requirements of this field.  Over the last few decades some magazines have been published in areas of language and oral literature which have proved to be very important and effective, but the theoretical foundations in this area have not received the required attention.  On the other hand, expansion of the scope and breadth of activities and attention of students and professors to this category now requires that the specialized journals focus their attention on research and production of scientific theories and achievements.  Establishment of two Literature and Culture Journals have also paved the path for study, research and collecting oral language and literature data.
