The macrostructure of couplets of Nimrooz

In macrostructure, which is a type of discourse and textual analysis in which the structure or context of language is studied at higher levels of the sentence, the system of a text or discourse is explained and interpreted. Considering this issue, the songs of Nimrooz, which are a collection of couplets from the Sistan region, can be divided into three groups: mono-instrumental, bi-instrumental, and tri-instrumental. The three main structures include: description, recommendation, and explanation. Each of these structures has substructures such as: complaint, regret, surprise, wish, supplication, prayer, and curse. The majority of these songs are monophonic songs centered on the descriptive structure, in which the songwriters express their romantic moods and emotions, as well as their longings and aspirations. Since the communication system of these songs is oriented towards the speaker, the words play an emotional role and the discourse presented in them is descriptive, which is indicative of the lyrical nature of these songs.
