Given the significance of the Balochi language and literature within Iranian literary studies, Balochi folk poetry includes a wide range of forms with distinctive characteristics. Swot is a type of song or ballad typically performed with musical accompaniment at various gatherings and is not confined to a specific ritual. Folk Swats have a long historical background and are generally anonymous. In the contemporary period, however, this genre has moved beyond its purely folk form and is now presented as ghazals or short lyrical poems attributed to known poets. Swats exhibit diverse metrical patterns, are rhymed, and are predominantly lyrical, most often focusing on love. This study aims to introduce and analyze the structural features and thematic content of the Swot genre. Using a descriptive–analytical approach and drawing on both fieldwork and library-based research, the article examines the form and content of Swot poetry. This topic has not previously been studied independently, the present research seeks to provide a foundation for the recognition and further study of this literary form بررسی جنبه‌های ساختاری و محتوایی ترانه‌های محلی اقوام ایرانی می‌تواند در تبیین برخی از ویژگی‌های شعر کهن فارسی و شکل‌گیری ادب منظوم ایرانی کمک کند، نظر به اهمیتی که زبان و ادب بلوچی در ادبیات ایرانی دارد، شعر عامۀ بلوچی دارای انواع گوناگونی است و هرکدام از آن‌ها ویژگی‌های خاص خود را دارد؛ سَوت نوعی ترانه و تصنیف است که آن را آوازخوانان معمولاً در مراسم گوناگون با موسیقی می‌خوانند و مخصوص مراسم خاصی نیست، سَوت‌های عامیانه، قدمتی طولانی دارند و سرایندۀ آن‌ها معلوم نیست، در دوران معاصر این ترانه از شکل عامه بیرون آمده است و به صورت غزل یا قطعات منظوم کوتاه با سرایندگان مشخصی ارائه می‌شود. سَوت‌ها تنوع وزن دارند و مقفی هستند و درون‌مایۀ آن‌ها اغلب غنایی با موضوع عاشقانه است، هدف از این تحقیق معرفی ساختار و مضمون این گونه‌ ترانۀ بلوچی است، در پژوهش حاضر با استناد به تحقیقات مَیدانی و کتابخانه‌ای و با روش توصیفی ـ تحلیلی، به ساختار و محتوای این نوع سروده پرداخته شده است، تاکنون به طور مستقل، به موضوع این مقاله پرداخته نشـده و این مقاله می‌تواند جهت معرفی و شناخت این نوع ادبی راهگشا باشد
