Culture and Folk Literature CFL 2345-4466 2423-7000 2017 5 12 Archetype of wolf in popular culture (Case study: Gorganeh in Firuzsha-name) Ameneh ebrahimi Peiman abolbashari One of the important aspects of a folk tale literature review, is to study mysterious and meaningful mental world, a world which narrates cultural history. This subject is feasible due to understanding and perception of the meaning elements of the fictions in which archetypes of collective mentality and common senses of nation’s mental world find the opportunity to be developed and find cohesion. The present study by adopting the theoretical framework of phenomenology and regarding the ancient background of wolf archetype in Persian culture and literature aims at illuminating the roots of Gorgane in Firuzshah-name. Wild woman archetype crystallization in Firuzshah-name fiction appears to be significant. Phenomenological interpretation of an old woman who has lost his or her child is called "Gorgane" which indicates this fact. Two legendary level (fierce wolf) and legendary (wolf and totems of the Turks) is visible in the story. Female wolf in Firuzshah-name has a negative character and unpleasant destiny, but it meets all the situations of accordance with Iranian mentality in the case of wolf and totems of the Turks. Also, this character agrees with archetype of barbaric or wild woman.   Archetype؛ Gorganeh؛ Firuzshah-name؛ History of culture 2017 3 01 25 40 http://cfl.modares.ac.ir/article-11-8825-en.pdf

Culture and Folk Literature CFL 2345-4466 2423-7000 2017 5 12 Discourse analysis of semiotic functions of lie in folk tales: Slippery in iconic system of language Hamid Reza Shairi Yeganeh Tohidloo To explain how lie is made from the perspective of semiotics, we first need to define icon and its function in the domain of discourse. In this regard, we show that although icon means the maximum amount of similarity between a thing and its representation, there is always the possibility of creating distance between the two that can vary from zero to infinity. This distance makes something as lying in language. According to this, icon can fluctuate from hypoicon to hypericon. Based on these explanations, we figure out that lying is a sign that loses its conformity with the object which is supposed to be represented. The article examines the causes of less or total disagreement of this icon in folk tales according to semiotic process. The main purpose of this article based on semiotic approach and iconic sign process, is to discover the causes of lacking conformity with the reality as well as the fluctuations of this icon. The main hypothesis of this theory is that the involvement and intervention of sense- perceptional and emotional processes as active factors in human behavior could change our understanding and point of view. For this reason, they prevent icon from a stable conformity with the object in time and place. As a result of this process, the discourse of lie is created. Culture and Folk Literature CFL 2345-4466 2423-7000 2017 5 12 Study of Grotesque Elements in "Mohammad Shirzad " Stories in Eskandarnameh Mohsen Mohammadi Fesharaki Roya Hashemizadeh Grotesque was introduced to European literature by the middle of sixteenth century, though previous definitions of this terminology were available before. Although this term was introduced to Aesthetics at the same time with its introduction to philosophy of arts, Kayser made it official and defined it as an expression of alienation and the chaotic world in the nineteenth century. Grotesque, as the definitions go, contains everything odd or strange. This oddity could be of humans, animals, spaces or amazing, strange or dispiteous situations. Generally, anything that contains these three characteristics while it is funny, is considered to be Grotesque. In this article, whit the library-documentary Method, alongside introducing definitions of this term, we reviewed Shirzad’s “Alexander the great”, the last part of the book “Eskandarnameh” regarding these elements. This stories presented, like all other stories of this book rich and special elements, it was divided into seven kinds of human, animal, grotesque atmosphere, language elements etc. This subject shows that vulgar stories also, like other stories can be the suitable background for this view. To this goal, at first , the collection of battles have been categorized in five agents such as subject , battle’s motif , battle adversary, adjuvants , and the results of battle. The first class includes hero’s battles from beginning of the story till his departure to the land of Shadad A’d and then his battles with the king of china and his army by the motif of love.     Second class has been devoted to the collection of hero’s battles with regard to religious motifs and other marginal factors. Also, Sam Nameh hero’s is an independent actant who do not obey any king.
